Distribution Network

Sovereign distribution network in New Zealand

17 New Zealand Financial Advice Providers list Sovereign on their public product panel, collectively employing 89+ registered financial advisers. Data current as of 2026-10-12.

How 9,152 advisers split for Sovereign

  • 85 advisers (16 firms): Their firm's disclosure statement names Sovereign.
  • 3,544 advisers (275 firms): Their firm's disclosure statement does not name Sovereign.
  • 5,523 advisers (2,132 firms): We hold no product panel for their firm, so we can't say.

Product panels are disclosed by the firm (FAP), not the individual adviser, and are AI-extracted from each firm's Public Disclosure Statement. A firm whose disclosure does not name Sovereign may still arrange it, and the “can't say” group is firms whose disclosure we have not yet read. Counts cover individual advisers with a current FAP appointment on the FSPR.

What "distribution" means here

Under New Zealand's Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013, every Financial Advice Provider (FAP) must publish a Public Disclosure Statement under section 431 covering — among other things — the product providers they are appointed to distribute. FinanceAdvisersNZ mirrors these PDSes and parses the product-panel section into structured data so that comparison across FAPs becomes possible.

Being on a FAP's product panel does not mean the FAP exclusively recommends that provider — most FAPs distribute a small set of providers per product category and recommend within that set based on client suitability. It does mean the FAP has a commercial arrangement (commission, share of fees, or other consideration) with the provider that consumers should understand before engaging.

How to use this page

If you want a New Zealand financial adviser who can advise on Sovereign products, this list narrows your choice to 17 FAPs. Click through to a FAP's profile page to read their full disclosure statement, see fee structure, and view conflict-of-interest disclosures before making contact.

If you want the opposite question — "what products does my adviser's FAP distribute?" — go to your adviser's profile and read the Distribution Panel section.

Methodology, freshness, and limits

  • Source: Mirror of FAP Public Disclosure Statements filed under FMC Act 2013 s431. We are not the publisher of any PDS — we mirror what each FAP has made public.
  • Extraction: Product-provider names are extracted from PDS markdown by Claude (LLM-extracted, confidence tier C). For original wording, refer to each FAP's own publication via the FSPR register entry linked from their profile page.
  • Coverage: FinanceAdvisersNZ currently has PDS data on file for ~51 of ~521 NZ FAPs (10%). Coverage grows as we ingest more PDSes. A FAP not listed here may still distribute Sovereign — we simply do not yet have their PDS in our corpus.
  • Freshness: PDS data is re-checked quarterly. Each FAP profile page shows the version date of the PDS we have on file.
  • Name normalisation: We do not currently normalise product-provider name variants (e.g. "ASB Bank" vs "ASB"). Future data-quality pass will collapse variants.

For data partners + B2B intelligence buyers

FinanceAdvisersNZ publishes the static state of NZ FAP product panels (this page) as free public data. For time-series intelligence — when FAPs add or remove a provider from their panel, market-share trend reports, cross-product panel queries, switching-event alerts, or bespoke market-entry research — contact hello@financeadvisers.co.nz.
