## Fees, Expenses and How We Are Paid

In many cases, our financial advice service is free to you. Instead, we receive commission from the product providers we work with. This may include:

- Upfront commission
- Ongoing commission/trail
- Fixed fees depending on the product

The amount depends on your insurance premium, loan amount, KiwiSaver balance or investment amount.

### When Fees May Be Charged

We may charge a fee if a client cancels a life or health insurance policy or home loan within two years of it starting. If this does apply to you, we'll let you know. The fee will be invoiced and payable by the 20th of the month following cancellation.

### Fees for Investment Advice

We charge for advice at the hourly rate of **$300 plus GST**, including the initial consultation.

The fee charged will depend on the nature and scope of the advice or service we provide for you. There is a cost for our financial planning advice and to implement any investment advice. We will outline the estimated cost in a letter of engagement and agree the fees with you before we proceed.

For some managed funds and KiwiSaver schemes, we are paid a commission by the provider and in those cases there is no charge for our advice.

Clients who choose our investment management service are charged a **retainer fee** which covers investment monitoring, administration and reporting. This also covers on-going review of your financial situation. The cost is expressed as a percentage of funds under management.

## How We Manage Any Conflicts of Interest or Other Incentives

- We follow a documented advice process focused on your goals
- Our advisers receive annual training on managing conflicts of interest
